Explore the art of June Artist in Residence Karin Shaw. View her beautiful watercolors, cards and original bookmarks.
Karin Shaw started with watercolors in the last few years after having been involved with original hand embroidery and needle arts. Karin and her husband settled in San Antonio, where she found the time to explore new opportunities, so she enrolled in a painting class at the Southwest School of the Arts in 2009. The experience was all she had hoped for and opened her eyes to this new medium. Since then, adopting new skills and techniques, Karin has developed an extensive watercolor portfolio.
Karin is originally from Germany and has lived in Europe, Central and South America, and the US. Topics for her paintings come from experiences she has had while living around the world as well as new discoveries in Texas. In addition to painting, she still enjoys hand embroidery, as well as tennis, traveling and the study of languages.
