Mission of the Office of the City Administrator
The City Administrator, working closely with the Mayor, provides leadership and direction in the implementation of City Council policy objectives, and administration of City services and programs with the goal to ensure accountability, community responsiveness and excellent customer service. He oversees five departments, specifically Administrative Services, Community Development, Community Services, Police and Public Works. He also acts as the Department Director for the Community Services Department, which includes the Castroville Municipal Airport and Library.
The City Administrator’s authority is derived from an Ordinance, which established the position. And, he is guided by the Code of Ethics
adopted by the International City/County Management Association.
