Swimmers 5 yrs. of age and younger must be able to demonstrate the following:
Be comfortable in the water.
Swim at least 10 yards (30 feet) without touching the bottom of the pool with their feet. They cannot just swim underwater, come up for a breath and then continue to swim underwater. They need to be able to submerge their face occasionally into the water and show some form of basic rhythmic breathing skills.
Swimmers 6yrs old and up must be able to demonstrate the following:
Complete one 25 yards (75 feet) length of the pool without touching the bottom with their feet.
They should use a recognizable front crawl stroke.
Be must be able to submerge their face in the water with some basic rhythmic breathing skills.
