The City Secretary is the chief election official for the City of Castroville and is the Official Records Management Officer. Open Records requests are generated through the City Secretary.
The City Secretary generates City Council information including the biweekly agenda packets (both paper and electronic) for regular called meetings, workshops, and special called meetings. The City Secretary is the Secretary to the Zoning Board of Adjustments, and the Economic Development Corporation Board. Also compiles applications for all the City Boards and Commissions, publishes all board agendas, and maintains their minutes. Agendas and minutes can be found in the Agenda Center.
The City Secretary is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws related to open records, open meetings, elections, and public notices.
