[ARCHIVED] City Hall Telephones Down

City Hall Telephones down

Last night the City experienced a power outage at approximately 5:08 PM. A pole with a three-phase transformer bank was on the ground at the school district property. South of the school on 471 S, one phase of the three-phase line went down in the trees causing a fire. The CPS System Operator closed the breaker feeding (feeds our reclosure on 90 E) the area and the east side of Castroville. CPS line crew’s arrived on scene and spliced the primary conductor back together. We were back on line by 7:28 PM. The Highway 90 E reclosure district includes Paris St. to Hwy 90 up to the nursing home, Country Village out to the city limits, and Hwy 90 E of the river up to Dr. Jafar’s Office. CPS customers in the area were also impacted --Walmart, Tractor Supply , Cornerstore, and the Airport.
