CASTROVILLE-The Edwards Aquifer Authority implemented Stage 1 Water restrictions effective March 10, 2022. Stage 1 is now mandatory for all of Castroville as per the recently approved amendment to our Drought Contingency Ordinance
Please ensure you follow the watering schedule for your address. See attached flyer for details. The EAA requires Edwards aquifer groundwater permit holders in Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, and Medina counties to reduce their annual authorized pumping amount by 20 percent during Stage 1. The purpose of mandatory pumping reductions is to stabilize water levels and spring flow until rainfall replenishes the aquifer.
